Telemark Skiing

If you would like to discover a totally new winter sport, let me introduce you to the most graceful type of skiing, which has in fact existed for over a century…  TELEMARK SKIING!!!

Telemark skiing was invented in 1868 by Norwegian carpenter Sondre NORHEIM, who lived in the county of Telemark in southern Norway.

Telemark skis were also the first skis with an inwards-turned waist, reproduced and accentuated in today’s parabolic shaped skis.

Telemark skiing involves a more physically demanding technique than traditional skiing. It is also a completely different sensation because you are in much closer contact with the snow. Also known as free heel skiing, you could say that if you free your heel, you free your mind!
